Day 01: AIRPORT – CHILAW – ANURADHAPURA
Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Esna Holidays. After completing the formalities, you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle for your journey to Anuradhapura via Chilaw. On the way, you will visit the Muneshwaram Temple, a sacred site in Hindu mythology. According to legend, Lord Rama, after his victorious battle, traveled back to Ayodhya in a Vimana. Feeling followed by Brahmahatthi Dosham (curse for killing a Brahmin king), he stopped at Muneshwaram. Seeking a remedy, Lord Rama prayed to Lord Shiva, who advised him to install and pray at four lingams in India and Sri Lanka, one of which was at Muneshwaram. The temple at Muneshwaram holds the first of these lingams, called Ramalinga Shivan. After visiting this significant temple, continue your journey to Anuradhapura. Check in to your hotel and relax for the night. -
Day 02: ANURADHAPURA – MANNAR – TRINCOMALEE
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before proceeding to visit the Ram Sethu (Rama's Bridge). Located around 30 kilometers from Mannar’s main town, the Talaimannar Lighthouse offers a scenic view, built in the early 20th century. Beyond the lighthouse, you will see Adam's Bridge, a stretch of limestone shoals that leads towards Pamban Island in India, believed to be remnants of the bridge built by Lord Rama's army to reach Lanka. After this visit, you will proceed to Trincomalee, a port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka. Here, you will visit the Koneswaram Temple, a significant Hindu temple atop Swami Rock, offering panoramic views of the city and coastline. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will also visit the Shankari Temple, a part of the Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas. The temple, though destroyed by the Portuguese in the 17th century, holds immense spiritual value. After your visits, check into your hotel in Trincomalee and relax for the night. -
Day 03: TRINCOMALEE – DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA
Start your day with breakfast and then head to Dambulla to explore the Dambulla Cave Temple. The temple, which dates back to the 1st century BC, houses 157 Buddha statues and extensive wall paintings. The UNESCO-listed site is renowned for its artistic and historical significance. After exploring the caves, visit Sigiriya Rock, also known as the Lion Rock, a 200-meter-high fortress built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century. The rock features water gardens, frescoes, and engineering marvels that continue to baffle modern experts. You will have the option to visit Ritigala on your way to Sigiriya, believed to be where Lord Hanuman picked medicinal herbs during the war between Rama and Ravana. Check into your hotel in Sigiriya for a restful overnight stay. -
Day 04: SIGIRIYA – MAHIYANGANA – KANDY

Also, visit Dunuwila, the site from which Lord Rama fired the Brahmastra arrow at Ravana, ultimately leading to his defeat. Continue your journey to Laggala, a strategically significant hill from which Ravana’s forces first spotted Rama's army. Afterward, proceed to Kandy and experience the Kandy Cultural Show (optional), a mesmerizing display of traditional Sri Lankan dance and fire performances. Continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya, visiting Ramboda Falls along the way. The 109-meter waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and steep rock faces. Learn about the tea production process at a local tea factory and enjoy a tea tasting session. Visit the Gayathri Peedam in Nuwara Eliya, a significant site in the Ramayana narrative, where Lord Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu are believed to have appeared. Check into your hotel in Nuwara Eliya and relax for the night. -

Visit the Divurumpola Temple, where Sita underwent her Agni Pariksha (trial by fire) to prove her chastity. Explore Ravana Cave, where Sita was imprisoned, and Ravana Waterfall, believed to be the site of a significant event in the Ramayana. Afterward, proceed to Kataragama. Check into your hotel in Kataragama and relax. -
Day 07: KATARAGAMA – GALLE
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before visiting the Murugan Temple in Kataragama, a pilgrimage site for people of all religions. The shrine, dedicated to Skanda, is renowned for its annual procession, which features firewalkers and dancers. En route to Galle, visit Ussangoda, a unique site where the land is believed to have been scorched by Hanuman’s tail during the war between Rama and Ravana. The area’s red sand and black stones have led to this belief. Continue to Rumassala and Sanjeevini Mountain, another site linked to the Ramayana, where Hanuman is believed to have dropped a part of the Dronagiri mountain while bringing medicinal herbs to save Lakshmana. Check into your hotel in Galle and relax for the night. -
